Who is Timothy Agozie

Timothy Agozie is an artist with an extraordinary talent.
Using only a pencil, he captures the likeness of a person’s face with such precision that you could be forgiven for believing you are looking at a photograph.
But Timothy does so much more than that.
His portraits capture the character and essence of his subjects – and bring them vividly to life. That’s why his work has been praised for its “emotional realism”.
Since the age of six, Timothy has dedicated his life to the development of his gift, and has created an incredibly impressive and diverse body of work. Now you can savour the fruits of his labour in several different ways.

I love to draw detailed faces. Each face to me tells an intriguing story regardless of age, gender, race or background.

In the process of putting pencil to paper, I begin by drawing in sections/stages. Since I was a young child I have always created drawings this way. I visually dissect facial features – I study them carefully and then I put them back together like pieces in a puzzle or shapes. This method of creating helps me understand expressions and also helps me appreciate the lengthy process each portrait drawing takes.

Biography

From a young age, Timothy’s heart was deeply attuned to creativity. At just six years old, he discovered the expressive power of a simple pencil—a tool that quickly became his lifelong companion.

His fascination with drawing grew alongside his natural emotional sensitivity, shaping an artistic style enriched by keen observation and a profound appreciation for the natural world.

In 2014, Timothy graduated with a diploma in Visual/Fine Art from East Bank Senior High School, further strengthening his foundation in the arts. Over the following three years, he created a remarkable portfolio of more than 1,000 drawings, many of which he proudly exhibited publicly.

Today, Timothy continues to explore his gift with passion and purpose. He is not only an artist but also a creator, educator, and leader, inspiring others through his dedication to art and creativity.
